pH and ORP measurement sensors

ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) measures a substance’s ability to oxidise or reduce another substance. Specifically, a positive ORP reading indicates that the substance acts as an oxidising agent, while a negative reading indicates that it functions as a reducing agent.

ORP is crucial in water testing because it indicates whether water is sanitised or contaminated based on its oxidation and reduction properties.

Toxic heavy metals dissolve more easily in acidic water, which increases their environmental impact. pH also influences the availability of essential plant nutrients, with many nutrients becoming less accessible when the pH rises above 7.
